CHAPTER 12 : ONE MORE TIME

Chapter 12 to story about obstacle for successfully. At 21 July 2005, SKALI were all geared for a public listing and receive approval from the Securities commission.

SKALI had 36 concurrent project, but it let to problems for they. SKALI now have over 100. This increased they overheads tremendously. Secondly big project need serious financing and don’t get paid until the project is complete. These two factors created cash flow problem for SKALI.

Market condition are still not good so SKALI are probably looking at a listing exercise sometime in 2007. So they divided 2006 would be the year to be focused and to do decision the hedgehog concept.

The first was realized in mid-2005 when they rediscovered theme value and purpose via a branding workshop. The second was easy, the internet. SKALI are an internet-driven company. SKALI were genetically encoded to do web-based business and solution.

Strategies of hedgehog concept is :
Break up the company into four main division.
Enhance MEB Business.
Refocus SEV-SKALI E-Ventures.
Promote a new management.

This allowed Aimi and Tengku Farith to focus on strategies rather then be bogged down on operation . among the key thing they did :
enhance the foundation of EBS project implementation.
Better cash flow operations.
cot cost like there’s not tomorrow.

However, some left SKALI simply because the could not take the heat of the revamp and cost cutting. But Aimi, Ida and Tengku Farith have been through a lot, they want a lot and lost a lot too. They are still here and going strong. Although each time they fall down, they will get up again and again and again…..
